The walk-in queue & wait times

QR-join queue with live positions and you're-up texts

Bookings and walk-ins, bridged

Some of your trade books ahead; some just walks in. The queue handles the second kind with the same polish as the first.

📍

Navigate to: Tasks → Queue view (the tab next to Board; /queue also works as a direct link)

Setting it up

  1. Open Tasks → Queue and tap Open queue.
  2. Set Serving at once — how many staff take walk-ins in parallel. This drives the wait estimate.
  3. The QR code is right on the panel — tap Print QR for a branded counter sign (your logo, the code, and scan-name-text instructions), or Copy link to share it anywhere.

How customers use it

They scan, type a name (and a mobile if they want the text), and get a live page: their position and a wait estimate that updates as the queue moves. They can leave the queue from their phone; closing the page doesn't lose their spot.

Returning customers are recognised

If someone joins with a phone number that matches a customer on file, Wemu links the visit automatically — the queue shows a Member badge, and "joined the walk-in queue" lands on that customer's activity timeline. No login, no lookup; their number is the recognition.

How front desk runs it

Every join rings the notification bell, so staff know someone's waiting even with the queue tab closed. Everyone appears in arrival order with their wait shown. When it's someone's turn, tap 📲 You're up — they get an SMS to head to the counter. Then ServingDone. No-shows and removals are one tap, and the estimate recalculates for everyone behind.

How the estimate works

Simple enough to explain to a customer: the minutes of work ahead of you, divided by how many staff are serving, rounded to five minutes. Pick a service when joining and its real duration is used; otherwise the default walk-in duration applies.

💡 Tip: quiet hour? Close the queue and the join page politely points people to the counter — reopen with one tap when the rush starts.
